If you’ve never been to a Chiropractor, you may be wondering what to expect during your first visit. When you first visit Back In Action Chiropractic, you will start with a patient intake, followed by a thorough evaluation. This initial appointment will last approximately 1½ hours, including the intake. Dr. Dodge will perform an assessment of your health status, needs, concerns and conditions. In this initial consultation, we review case history, perform a complete physical examination, as well as order any laboratory analysis, including x-rays that may be necessary. In addition, you will receive a careful chiropractic structural examination, with particular attention paid to the spine. A broad range of techniques may then be used to locate, analyze and gently correct vertebral misalignments (subluxations) in the spine. We will never use pharmaceutical drugs or invasive surgery.
A chiropractor is the primary care professional for spinal health and well-being. Chiropractic is the method of natural healing most chosen by those seeking complementary/alternative health care for acute and chronic conditions. While you may first visit a chiropractor to relieve pain in the lower back or to treat sciatica, neck pain, a sports injury, whiplash or headache, you will find that Dr. Dodge views you as a whole person and not the sum of your parts. She will work in partnership with you to ensure your optimal health and wellness.
Chiropractors recognize that many factors affect your health, including exercise, nutrition, sleep, environment and heredity. At Back In Action Chiropractic, we focus on maintaining your health naturally to help your body resist disease, rather than simply treating the symptoms of disease.
After the initial visit, ongoing visits take just 15 to 20 minutes. Your appointment will never be rushed, so you can be sure that the proper attention to your needs will always be provided. The path to wellness with your chiropractor is more effective with consistent preventive visits. Dr. Dodge will recommend the proper treatment plan to meet your individual healthcare needs.
We also work in tandem with other healthcare professionals. If your condition requires attention from another healthcare profession, that recommendation or referral will be made.
After you have an established treatment plan you may be interested in a house call for your appointment. This may offer more convenience for people with limited mobility, or it may simply appeal to those wishing to be in the comfort of their own home. In-home care is available in surrounding towns only. Please call the office or talk to Dr. Dodge during your next appointment to see if in-home care is right for you. There is an additional travel fee for in-home appointments.
